Commission welcomes new Board members

The GasFields Commission has welcomed three new board members to help guide sustainable coexistence between landholders, rural and regional communities, and the onshore gas sector.

Joining the existing board is seasoned engagement specialist, facilitator and advocate John Anderson; resources infrastructure and agriculture leader Rachele Sheard; and stakeholder engagement, project and business development, mediation expert, and local landholder Jane Walker.

The new Board members and Chair join re-appointed board members Stuart Armitage, Rebecca Pickering and Shalene McClure.

Commission CEO Warwick Squire thanked outgoing chair Ian Langdon for his dedicated service to the Commission, Queensland’s rural communities and gas companies.

“Ian has been instrumental in steering the Commission’s work over the last 3 years, including guiding reforms in public liability insurance, subsidence, the scrutiny of Queensland’s RPI act.

“He also raised the stakes in transparency across industry and government to level the playing field for regional communities.”
